ASC Healthcare are an independent provider of services for people with learning disability and/or autism spectrum conditions (asc) having a Senior Management Team made up of a range of qualified, experienced and skilled clinicians and are destined to become the leading independent provider of hospital in-patient therapy, treatment and support services across the UK.
The Breightmet Centre for Autism operated by ASC Healthcare, became registered with Care Quality Commission in August 2013 and is now fully operational as an independent hospital which will provide enhanced support care and treatment placements without the premium costs and add-ons usually associated with specialist services.
Situated just 2 miles from the Centre of Bolton, The Breightmet Centre is purpose designed and built and provides 18 specialist beds. These will be within four individual wards and additional external ‘step down’ services, allowing transition through individual defined care Pathway.
ASC Healthcare through a unique approach in their delivery of a social and clinical partnership model, will actively support individuals to develop a range of life skills and functional strategies that will allow individuals to live the life they want to live now and in the future.
ASC Healthcare clearly recognises and endorses the philosophy that a hospital is not a home, but a place for extra support during a critical time in a person’s lifetime. The emphasis of our work from point of referral will always focus on discharge preparation.
The spectrum of conditions supported by ASC Healthcare includes those known as “classic autism” Asperger syndrome and pervasive developmental disorder – not otherwise specified (PDD-NOS), also known as “atypical autism”. The specialist approach adopted by the organisation that influences and underpins all staff practice embraces the most up to date research surrounding the heterogeneity of asc and its multiplicity of underlying causes.
