For a Safe and planned transition from Hospital to the Community.
Maryfield Court is a 27 bed male and female service for adults who may be liable for detention under the Mental Health Act 1983 updated 2007. The building has been designed to create a dynamic flow for service users with easy access to a multidisciplinary team (MDT).
The Service is divided into four distinct living areas known as apartments-
Apartment 1: based on the ground floor with 7 acute/crisis beds. The ensuite bedrooms with seating areas are designed to a high specification including Anti-ligature specification.
Apartment 2: based on the ground floor with 6 acute/crisis beds (disability compliant). The bedrooms are designed to a specification to meet the needs of physically disabled service users.
Apartment 3: on the first floor has been designed to create a lesser restrictive environment and mirror community living apartments for service users that require further positive risk testing.
Apartment 4: this area is designed as being more of a ‘step through’ pre-discharge service to links with community discharge pathways.
Apartments 3 and 4 both have individual kitchens attached to their bedrooms, which allows the service user to prepare their own meals with the support of the staff team.
At Maryfield Court each service user will follow our own unique Visual Discharge Pathway (VDP) of care and support which will run alongside the Recovery Star and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) models.
In order for our service users to make a positive difference to their lives, re-integration into the wider community remains at the heart of the work we undertake with our service users. Equally, our service users also work in partnership with the community, giving something back by taking part in local projects and community groups. We have chosen the location of our service to provide every opportunity for our service users to learn and live as independently as possible.
